Justin Hartz Staff Geologist/Operations Manager Justin’s experience with geoscience may have started with his love of fishing and spending time outdoors. Or maybe during the years he spent managing golf courses. His two degrees from West Chester University – Bachelor of Science in Geoscience and Bachelor of Science and Education in Earth and Space Science certainly drove him in the right direction. Whatever the inspiration, Justin is now firmly rooted in geotechnical foundation engineering and design. As coordinator of field work for engineering and environmental projects, Justin’s responsibilities include field investigations, processing samples for laboratory testing, and compiling reports. He is involved in the proposal process, project management, and supervision of field personnel. Justin has worked on development for rail, bus stations, roadways, wastewater treatment plants, substations and residential structures. In addition to ‘fishing a lot’, Justin is also an instructor in Shotokan Karate. The discipline, strength, and power required for this form of karate have prepared him well for fatherhood. Justin and his wife are the proud parents of a young daughter born in 2016.
